Venues Event Management have developed the roles of several key staff to create a new sales and marketing team perfectly structured to increase awareness and develop new and existing business in today’s challenging marketplace.
Venues Event Management is one of the UK’s leading venue finding, meeting, conference, accommodation and event management companies. The new sales and marketing team consists of six members who are geared up to maintain the companies already strong and long standing client relationships as well as winning new business and driving the brand forward.
The team consists of a Client and Strategic Sales Manager and three Client Development Managers who between them look after a high profile portfolio of clients. Their focus is to visit these clients on a regular basis to ensure a high level of service is maintained and to increase business by seeking out new opportunities within these established clients. The team consist of Darren Scott, Charlie Murphy, Trisha Simpson and Jaimi Sear.
Next there is Marketing Manager Becky Guest. Becky has nearly ten years experience in business to business marketing communications. Since joining the company in March 2008, Becky has been working on developing the new brand with the creation of unique communications and selling tools.
Finally, looking after new business is Business Development Manager Mark Fry. Since joining the company just over a year ago, he has already been instrumental in winning a number of new accounts.
What is unique about this sales team is that several members have held senior operational roles within Venues Event Management. As well as their strong sales background, they have organised numerous events and conferences themselves, so they have in-depth knowledge of the service they are selling. This was highlighted in a recent tender where the client commented: “It was great to see the level of experience demonstrated, these guys are so much more than sales people.”
Mark commented:
"Anyone in business should know that it costs twice as much to win a new customer as it does to retain existing ones, however, many current business models incentivise new customers and neglect existing ones. This is not our approach; our attention to existing clients has always been and will remain constant, because if you look after your clients in the bad times, they will remember you in the good times.
Of course we are still exploring new business opportunities and the last six months have seen us win several new contracts. The Venues Event Management sales and marketing team are now perfectly structured to increase awareness in the market place, maintain relationships with existing customers and win new business"
