Venues Event Management prides itself on its excellent supplier relationships and its open door policy to the hotels that form the vast majority of its supplier base. The two way relationship is an approach this meeting conference and event agency adopted when it first started trading in 1989.
One very important part of the job for operational staff is completing site inspections of venues to experience them first hand. When Ian Jones, Director of Agency Sales for De Vere venues heard that Venues Event Management was looking to renovate one of its meeting rooms, he had an idea. Rather than take the agency to the hotel, why not bring the hotel to the agency?
De Vere have invested heavily in their meeting and conference facilities in the last twelve months, selecting very specific, colour schemes, finishes and décor to ensure consistency across properties. As a way of giving staff the opportunity to experience this, De Vere offered to sponsor one of Venues Event Management’s company meeting rooms. This involved decorating the room so that the finished product looks exactly like any De Vere meeting room.
Ian commented:
"We were delighted to have this opportunity. Every working day both Venues Event Management staff and visiting clients can sample De Vere first hand without even leaving the office, it’s great exposure for us."
Esther Hargreaves, Venues Event Management Procurement and Supplier relations Manager added:
"This is an innovative way of showcasing De Vere’s facilitates to our operational teams. It is another great example of how by working together with our suppliers we achieve innovative solutions."
